Kathryn Jean Borella, also known as "Jean" to her family and friends, was born on July 31, 1946, in Albany, Georgia, to Lt. Col. William G. Borella and Ann Giddens Borella. She passed away on Thursday, February 9th, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. Jean was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Terry Borella. She is survived by her sisters Suzann Hagins of Albany, Georgia, Sally Bowen & Julie Martin of Cumming, Georgia, and her brother John Borella of Augusta, Georgia.
Jean graduated from Kennesaw State University with a degree in business. She was a lover of animals, especially her German Shepherds, Madchen & Shawna, and had a passion for health and wellness, which she shared with her family and friends. Her faith as a Christian was a source of strength and confidence, and she spent many hours studying the word of God.
Jean's strong will and determination were evident in her active involvement in local politics. She desired to be a part of the change she wanted for her community and was always eager to make a difference.
Jean grew up in a military family having a father who served in the US Airforce. Despite being born and graduating college in the state of Georgia, Jean called many places home, including Louisiana, Hawaii, California, South Carolina, and Florida. She cherished the time she spent with loved ones, appreciating the simple things in life.
Jean will be dearly missed by her family and friends, who will always remember her as a kind, strong-willed, and compassionate person. Her legacy will live on in the lives she touched, and her memory will forever be cherished.
