Kenneth Alan Baker, 69, peacefully left us in the early morning on Thursday, October 17, 2024, surrounded by the love of his devoted wife, Donna Baker, and their daughters, Michelle, Becky, and Amanda. A long-time resident of Forsyth County, he cherished over 45 years in Georgia and embraced his community as an inspiring online member of Northpoint Church.
Ken was born in Englewood, New Jersey. Growing up in the suburbs of River Edge, near the Delaware River, he discovered his passion for music as a young boy, learning to play the guitar and singing. His beautiful music touched the hearts of his loved ones.
Summers spent with family at Lake Wallenpaupack in Pennsylvania filled him with joy as he embraced boating, fishing, and skiing activities that became cherished memories. He served as an acolyte at the Church of the Annunciation, embodying a spirit of service and faith. Known affectionately by various nicknames - Father, Bug, Tree, Tall Cool One and always Bro, he inspired those around him with his perspective on life, warmth, creativity, and sense of adventure.
Ken graduated from River Dell High School in 1973. After graduation, he embarked on an adventurous road trip that took him from coast to coast before he eventually returned to his forever home in Georgia. There, he became a skilled tradesman known for his painting expertise in new construction and revitalizing homes across Georgia and Florida. Everyone who knew Ken cherished him and his customers considered him like family.
Shortly after moving to Georgia, Ken met his true love and Soulmate, Donna. Together, they embarked on a journey as two hearts, meant to beat as one, forever and always. Ken cherished making memories with his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He had great passion for music that will forever resonate, singing and making music that will be a gift for generations to come.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Baker, and Lucille Arnold, as well as his brother Chris Baker. He is survived by his wife, Donna Baker, and their children: Michelle Imhoff (Sean), Chris Baker, Rebecca Ruppe (James), Amanda Brown (Chris); daughter-in-law, Kamulla Keller-Jousma; seven grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by his sisters Jan Morian (Greg) and Cindy Myers and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ken was a guiding light in our lives, always living present with his kindness and warmth. An angel among us. His spirit, filled with love and compassion, will forever resonate within each of us, inspiring us to be better and to cherish the moments we shared as we carry forward.
The family will be celebrating the life of Ken Baker at a private event. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Northpoint Church https://northpoint.org/give and/or flowers may be coordinated directly with the family.
