Kenneth Richard Durand

Kenneth Durand, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2024. He was a man of kindness, curiosity, and deep love for his family and the world around him.

Ken is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Durand; his sons, Andrew Durand (Denice) and Martin Durand (Hannah); his brothers, Louis Durand (Marilyn) and Stephen Durand (Joanne); his sister-in-law, Tracy Martin; and his beloved nieces and nephews.

Ken’s adventurous spirit took him across the country, where he found joy in exploring new places and meeting new people. He had an innate ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, turning strangers into lifelong friends. His passion for HAM radio connected him to voices from around the world, including his dear friends in the Green Frogs, a community that became like family to him. Through the radio, he shared stories, laughter, and camaraderie, leaving behind echoes of his warmth and wisdom.

Ken’s presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is now at peace, still traveling in spirit and forever a voice on the airwaves.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Bost officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and again on Saturday, from 11:00 AM until the hour of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you honor Ken’s memory by donating to a local charity of your choice, giving blood or platelets, or contributing to Atlanta Blood Services, which supports The Blood & Marrow Transplant Group of Georgia.
