Kent Talma Churchill of Cumming, GA passed away on December 22, 2022. Born in Detroit, MI on August 23, 1967, Kent spent his early years in Northern Virginia but referred to the Atlanta area as his home. In 2022, Kent fought a long but successful battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and was on vacation with his family in Costa Rica where he passed away suddenly and tragically. Prior to his passing, Kent and his family had created a week of amazing memories and was reflecting on the many good things in his life, as well as his love of the Pacific Ocean.
Kent attended the Naval Academy where he received a Bachelor's degree in History. He received a Master's degree in Management from Georgia Tech. In addition, Kent was an officer for the United States Navy where he served in Desert Storm. Kent had many hobbies and interests including earning a rare certification as a high powered distinguished rifleman, recreational welding and creating things with 3D printing. Kent loved nature and the outdoors and was happiest when in the mountains.
He is survived by his wife Geeta Bhat Churchill of Cumming, GA and son Kaden Talma Churchill also of Cumming, GA, his father Gerald Joseph Churchill and stepmother Diane Foley Churchill of Peachtree Corners, GA and sister Jeremie Ann Churchill of Jackson, TN. Kent is predeceased by his mother Sarah Ann Smith of Fredericksburg, VA.
A celebration of Kent's life will be held on January 2, 2023 at the Ingram Funeral Home located at 210 Ingram Avenue Cumming, GA 30040 beginning at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, Kent would be honored to have donations made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at
lls.org to further lymphoma research and provide support to others with the disease.
