Larry Carroll, 64 of Jefferson, GA, formerly of Cumming, GA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 15, 2012 after a 9 year battle with Frontal Temporal Dementia. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was born in Mobile, AL. He was a member of First Baptist Church Cumming and was active in the Forsyth County Lions Club. In 2000, he retired from Lucent Technology after 33 years. His hobbies included fishing, hiking, and traveling. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Nancy of Jefferson; parents James and Nell Carroll of Cumming; brother, Jim Carroll of Cumming; daughters and sons-in-law, Alicia and Bryan Hamrick of Jefferson, Katie and Barry Garmon of Jefferson; grandchildren, Emily and Matt Hamrick, Caroline, Elizabeth, and Natalie Garmon; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ray and Sherry Davis of Sharpsburg; mother-in-law, Frances Davis of Newnan, formerly of Cumming. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Herbert Davis. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 19th at 4:00 pm at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens with Dr. Bob Jolly officiating. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 18th from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Thursday, July 19th from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm. Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
