Lawrence D Browning

Lawrence Browning, Ed.D., 83, a resident of Blairsville, GA and New Port Richey, FL, passed away of cancer on September 26, 2017 in Cumming, GA. Larry was born February 19th, 1934 in Logan, WV of Robert Browning and Essie Mae Browning. Larry, who was proud to be a Christian, lived a life of adventure and teaching. He served in the United States Navy as a submariner aboard the USS Cutlass, and later served countless students of all ages over a lifetime as an educator, principal and superintendent of schools through a career spanning North Carolina, Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana and Georgia. Larry is preceded in death by both parents, sisters Doris Wells and Hattie Hopper and brothers Robert and Jack Browning. He is survived by his wife Linda Browning, brothers Donald Browning, Willard McCallister, sisters Polly Browning, Barbara Black, Punkin Leffingwell, Mollie Kelly, Roberta Dillon, sons/daughters-in-law Bruce Browning & Katherine Sage, and Brent & Deanne (Heyer) Browning, daughter Tricia Greenwood & son-in-law Dennis Greenwood along with many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
