Lee Roy Bop Martin, age 83, a native of Forsyth County, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2011. Lee Roy was a devoted husband, a loving and caring father and grandfather who always put everyones needs before his. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, especially his family with whom he instilled values of truth, kindness, and most of all the love of God. He was born November 17, 1927 and graduated from Cumming High School. He was a member of Haw Creek Baptist Church. Lee Roy enjoyed gardening, woodworking and spending time with his family. Lee Roy is preceded in death by his parents, Belve H. and Monna Corn Martin; brothers and sister-in-law, Edsel and Kathryn Martin, Grady Martin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gladys and Beeler Munda, Ellen and Wayne Mundy, Joffree (Bud) Martin and infant sister Charlotte. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Lourene Gilbert Martin; daughter and son-in-law, Gayle and Edward Haight; grandson, Jonathan Martin Haight all of Cumming; sister, Louise Martin; sister-in-law, Ellen Martin; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011, at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Bennett, Rev. Ruel Martin, Rev. Jonathan Martin Haight and Rev. Larry Vaughan officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from noon until the hour of service. Ingram Funeral Home Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
