Lennart S. "Lenny" Wallhagen

Mr. Lennart (Lenny) S. Wallhagen died on February 19, 2013, in Gainesville, GA, at the age of 76. He was born in Greenwich, CT, and was raised in Stamford, CT. Lenny has lived the past 35 years in Georgia. Lenny retired at the age of 62. He played amateur hockey in the early 80's and was an off-ice official for the National Hockey League. He was an avid golfer and worked and played on several golf courses in the area. He served in the military from 1955 to 1958. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Betty Wallhagen; his son, Mr James (Jim) L. Wallhagen of Branford, CT; his daughter, Ms. Krista Wallhagen of Guilford, CT; Yvonne Brackett of Jasper, GA; Wes Conley of Carrolton, GA, and Georgia and Alan Conley of Sugar Hill, GA. A celebration of Lenny's life will be held for family and friends at Park Bench Bar on Irby Avenue, Atlanta, GA on Saturday, March 2nd, at 3:00 PM. A Military Memorial at Georgia National Cemetery is pending for early May. In lieu of flowers, donations to the humane society would be appreciated.
