Leonard Joseph Murrans (Len)

Born in Bronyx, NY on May 17, 1924 to Anna & Joseph Murrans who came to the states from Canada. Len had one sister, Joan Bouton, who lived with her family in Cos Cob CT and preceded him in death. Len graduated from Grover Cleveland High School, Ridgewood, NY, joined the Navy in 1942 and served on a sub chaser in the North Atlantic and South Pacific . The Navy sent him to Georgia Tech in the V-12 program where he then graduated in Electrical Engineering through the GI Bill. While at Georgia Tech Len was the president of Kappa Sigma fraternity. Shortly after graduating, Len married June Irvin on Sept 27 of 1947 and they were happily married for sixty years. June passed on March 29th 2008. They had three daughters, Susan Duke, Linda Stypulkowski, and Elizabeth Murrans. His grand children were Ben Duke, Laura Kramer, Cole Roberts, Blake Roberts, Jessica Allen, Jenny Redmond and Katie Stypulkowski, and 10 great grandchildren. Len worked with Square D Electrical Company for 40 years, and retired as a Vice President. He also received his MBA from Loyola University.

While in Atlanta , June and Len were very active in Peachtree Presbyterian Church where June sang in the choir, Len taught Sunday School and both were elders.

Services will be held at Peachtree Presbyterian Church in the Wilson Chapel on Saturday Dec 16th at 1:00 p.m.
