Linda Henke Kost

Linda Henke Kost, born June 21, 1963 in Westlock, Alberta, Canada, the daughter of Irvine and Marlene Henke of Pawley's Island, South Carolina, passed away peacefully with her husband and family at her bedside on September 24, 2020 at the age of 57. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Jeffrey Kost, her two sons, Alex and Matthew Kost, both parents, her two brothers, Warren and Cameron Henke of Littleton, Colorado, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins, all residing in Canada as well as many in-laws located across the United States.

Growing up, due to her father's career in banking, Linda lived in many different cities across Canada and attended several different school's during her childhood. In 1981, she immigrated to the United States, again following her father's career, where she then resided in Darien, Connecticut. Several years later she met her husband, Jeff, and after some years of friendship and engagement Linda and Jeff entered into wedlock on May 27, 1989. Their wedding was held in Lake George, New York where they chose to relocate to and begin their family.

Linda's first son, Alex was born on October 3, 1990 in Glens Falls, New York. After spending a few more years in the area, the family relocated to Cumming, Georgia in 1994 where they have called home ever since. Linda's second son, Matthew, was born in Dunwoody, GA on October 30, 1997.

Linda worked for several companies in various positions in New York and Connecticut. After her relocation to Georgia, she started a long-term career with Siemens/Primetals Technologies where she worked 21+ years as a Technical Administrative Assistant.
Linda was a loving, dedicated mother and wife who was happiest when spending time with her two children, husband, and numerous pets, especially the family dog, Rocky. She enjoyed watching and participating with her son's sports activities and was a dedicated baseball Mom for many years. Linda was always encouraging and supportive of her children's other endeavors as well. Among her proudest accomplishments with her children was seeing both sons graduate from University with Honors. Alex from Georgia State University and Matthew from Kennesaw State University.

Linda truly loved her homeland of Canada. Despite moving to the United States and marrying a U.S. citizen, Linda chose to maintain her citizenship as Canadian. While she loved the United States, Linda maintained an enduring love and pride for being Canadian. Linda did develop a love for the southeast and enjoyed all that it has to offer. She particularly loved the coast from the Low Country of South Carolina to the beauty of the Georgia Golden Isles, especially Jekyll Island which was a very special place for her and Jeff.

Linda was a kind and caring person who was loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by the many family members and friends whose lives she touched.

We love you Linda. God Bless and rest in peace.

The family will have a private memorial service with a public service held later in October.

Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, 210 Ingram Ave, Cumming, GA 30040 is in charge of arrangements.
