Lindsey Mary Hansard, age 77, of Cumming, Georgia unexpectedly passed away on October 2, 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Lindsey was born on December 22, 1946 in Croydon, England to her parents Doreen Mary and Kenneth Charles Anderson. Lindsey grew up in the United Kingdom until the age of 16 when her family relocated to the states for her fathers job. Lindsey, and her family, moved to New York to live there when her father, a former WWII bomber pilot, was appointed to be a diplomate for the British Consulate and work in the New York Offices. Once her father retired from military duties the family moved to Georgia and her parents started an offset printing company named Piccadilly Press, a nod to their homeland. After many years of running the business her parents retired and Lindsey and her sister, Alison, took over and ran the business for several more years before retiring themselves.
Lindsey was truly one of a kind and lit up any room she walked into. On Halloween night many years ago that bright light and beautiful woman stopped a man in his tracks. Lindsey had met the greatest and biggest love of her life, Jerry Hansard. Lindsey and Jerry had the type of love and connection that most people only dream about. They met in 1997 and married in 2003 in Dawsonville, Georgia.
Lindsey became deputy tax commissioner for Dawson County and retired after 10 years of service. Lindsey and Jerry moved to Lake Lanier in 2012 and really started living their best life and enjoying everything they had worked so hard for, together. Lindsey loved to garden, decorate, rearrange (every possible thing), craft, sew, organize and most importantly love. Lindsey was involved with several different clubs and loved the time she spent working with each one and met several of her very best friends there.
Lindsey loved to travel around the world and Jerry was always by her side ready for their next adventure. They enjoyed absolutely everything together and would also travel with their very dear friends Geraldine and Ray Davies. Lindsey loved her life and adored her husband, children, grandchildren, family near and far, several fur babies and her friends! Lindsey loved unconditionally, whole heartedly and was always the voice of reason. She was truly a gift and it has been said, by many people, that Lindsey had a peace about her and wanted to help however she could to make someone feel they are capable of being the best version of themselves, always.
Lindsey is preceded in death by her parents, Doreen Mary and Kenneth Charles Anderson, her younger sister Alison D. Brooks and several other loved family and friends.
Lindsey is lovingly survived by her husband Jerry Hansard, her son Brian (Beth) Johnson, her daughter Jodi (Gary) Jackson; her granddaughters Sloan Elizabeth Johnson, Emily Laine Jackson, Mya Rose Jackson and Rian Mary Jackson; her niece Kristen Brooks; her fur babies Sydney Grace and Perseus “Percy” Hansard; very special friends and travel partners Geraldine and Ray Davies, and numerous loving friends and family.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at 2:00pm at Christ The King Lutheran Church (1125 Bettis Tribble Gap Road, Cumming, Georgia 30040) with the Reverend J. Patrick Finley officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service at the church.
