On June 12, 2022, Heaven got a whole lot sweeter when Jesus called our precious Nana home. Lois M. Yarbrough was definitely greeted with "Welcome home my true and faithful servant, Well Done". She was born on July 28,1924 and was the oldest member of Mt Tabor Baptist Church where she attended every Sunday she possibly could, made sure everyone felt welcome and loved. If you knew her, you knew she loved you because she didn't leave it unsaid.
When she entered the pearly gates of heaven last night she was greeted by her parents, Sonnie & Montaree Major, her loving husband C.W. Yarbrough, children Caroline Ruth and twin infants, her daughter-in-law Geraldine Yarbrough, Son-in-law Lee Shiry, Jr. and Granddaughter Melanie Couch. She is enjoying the reunion with her siblings and their spouses as well - Marie (Carl) Sneed, J.M. (Bertha) Major, Irene (Bernard) Yarbrough, Hurchel (Eloise) Major, Jerry Major, Gail Major, Geraldine (James) Jennings. We can see her with her hand raised in the air rejoicing that she can enjoy eternity with all of them.
She showered her family with love, guidance and a promise that we would all be together again one day. She leaves behind her son, Lamar Yarbrough, daughter Clara Sue (Edward) Couch and Pam Shiry; grandchildren Vicki (Bruce) Alsup, Patrick Couch, Angie Juliette, April (Gavin) Hoffman, Lee (Jean) Shiry, Jr. and Lynn (Chris) Short. Her great grandchildren - Kelsey (Stephen) Clack, Levi (Bailey) Alsup, Kaylee (Brandon) Jennings, Devin Juliette, Tabor Buckles, Rachel, Rebecca, Hannah and Joseph Shiry and Meghan Short. Great Great Grandchildren - Kinzley and Aubrey Clack, Hadlee and Paislee Jennings. And Brother Kenneth Major.
We had the honor of having five generations all together for the last 6 years and Nana loved all her babies. She loved flowers of all kinds, shapes and colors, she enjoyed doing word puzzles and was great at Trivia but the one thing that she has left behind for us all is a very worn out bible that the pages are falling out of, poems she wrote and lots of tear stains that she shed while reading and praying for us all. She was one of a kind and we have big shoes to fill but she left a path that we can all follow. It's not goodbye it's see you later Nana.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 15th, 2022, at 3:00 PM, at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church with Rev. Nathan Hester, Rev. Levi Alsup, Rev. David Skinner, Rev. Bruce Alsup, and Rev.
