At the age of sixteen, she moved to Atlanta, where she later secured employment with the Office of Secretary of State. Louise married Dr. Ramon Watts, assisting him in his medical practice as well. They had two children, Paula Watts Avery of Atlanta, and Dr. Forrest Watts of Cumming. Later, Louise worked for General Motors Credit Union as a loan officer.
