Lucy Nelson

Lucy Nelson, age 67 of Marietta, GA, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 22, 2012. She was a graduate of Campbell High School and Georgia State University. Lucy was a wonderful loving teacher and mother. She loved animals and worked at the Shallowford Animal Hospital for many years. She loved the Lord and enjoyed teaching his word. She was a member of Mt. Paran North Church of God in Marietta. Lucy is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Lucille Ackett. Survivors include her husband, Garry Nelson; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Erin Nelson; grandchildren, Barret and Brody Nelson. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 26th at 11:00 am at Mt. Paran North Church of God, 1700 Allgood Rd. Marietta, GA 30062 with Rev. Bud Leonard officiating. Interment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta, GA. The family will receive visitors at H.M. Patterson and Son - Canton Hill Funeral Home, 1157 Old Canton Rd. Marietta, GA 30068 on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Joshua Fund or the Joel Rosenburg Fund.
