Marcelle Mathis

Marcelle Mathis, 92, of Oakwood, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014. Marcelle was a member of Salem Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Claude Mathis and her sister, Idell Mayfield. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Donnie (Mimi) Mathis of Oakwood, Dennis (Laurie) Mathis of Madison, AL; daughter, Carolyn (Curt) Rice of McDonough; brothers and sister-in-law, Eugene (Inez) Chambers of Dawsonville, Jr. Chambers of Dawsonville; 5 grandchildren, Julie (John) Chapman of Flowery Branch, Amanda Poole of Custard, SD, Brad Mathis of Oakwood, Camden Eades of Japan, Hunter Ceto of Suwanee and many other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Martin and Rev. Donnie Nix officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, from 4 to7 p.m. and on Sunday, from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.
