Mrs. Margaret Hoffman, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away on June 15, 2013. Mrs. Hoffman was born in Star Junction, PA ( Uniontown) on March 07, 1918. She was the daughter of Peter Sholtz and Justina Evandel Sholtz , proud immigrants from the Austro-Hungarian Empire. (now Ukraine) She was educated in PA, and during the great depression, she moved to Peekskill, New York to work as an au pair. She and Russell S. Hoffman were married on September 07, 1936 at the Church of the Assumption, Peekskill, New York. Mr. Hoffman predeceased her in 1990. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Peter, Jr., George, and Andrew. Mrs. Hoffman was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking the foods of her parents native country which she shared with family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Loretta J. Pelaia, and her husband, Dr. Ralph M. Pelaia, with whom she resided for the last twenty five years. She is survived by loving grandchildren, Elaine M. Pelaia of Roswell, GA, Kathleen P. Martin and her husband, Peter, of Skillman, NJ, Michael R. Pelaia and his partner, Gregory J. Bruner of Decatur, GA, Christopher J. Pelaia of Smyrna, GA, and Carole J. Pelaia of Beacon, NY. She is also survived by three great grandchildren whom she cherished: Lindsay Margaret Martin, Patrick Joseph Martin, and William Tucker Martin of Skillman, NJ. There will be a Celebration of Life at 11 a.m on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Christ the Redeemer Church in Dawsonville, GA. Fr. Brian Higgins, Pastor, will officiate. Mrs. Hoffman will be interred in the cemetery of the Church of the Assumption, Peekskill, New York at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were made by Ingram Funeral Home, Cumming, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to St. Jude's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN or to a charity of your choice. Mrs. Hoffman's family would like to acknowledge the kindness and care extended to her during the last four years by the staff of Roswell Nursing Home, Roswell, GA.
