Margaret Ann Bella Staffieri, age 75, of Dahlonega, Georgia, formerly of Cumming, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2019.
Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Marge moved to Lilburn, Georgia, in 1971 with her then husband, Joe Staffieri, and their two young children, Debbie and TJ. While married, Marge also created homes in Jackson, Mississippi, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, before moving the family back to Georgia in 1979.
Marge later moved to Pensacola, Florida, after becoming single, to be near her son and his family. While in Pensacola, her home was always open and filled with family and friends where late-night pennies and card games ensued, as well as much cooking of fresh seafood from her Florida co-workers.
She returned to Georgia in the 2000s after she was diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease to be near her daughter and family as well as her lifelong best friend, caretaker, and partner-in-crime, Deanna Puszewski.
Marge attended Little Flower High School in Philadelphia and had a long career at JCPenney, eventually retiring from there. She also worked at the Pensacola Naval Exchange after retirement.
Marge was a very fun and loving individual touching everyone she met. She had a strong passion for animals and throughout her life, she rescued and owned horses, dogs, cats, and rabbits. She was an avid Monopoly, Scrabble, and cards player and loved day trips to the casinos.
When she passed, she was an active resident at Chelsey Park Health Rehabilitation where she sat on the Residents Council and was the current Black Jack trophy holder. She helped counsel Chelsey Park with their puzzle collections and taught new friends how to play old favorites of hers like Scrabble. She could be witnessed on several occasions gently escorting other residents with memory issues back to their rooms or going into neighbors rooms to help them when they physically could not help themselves.
Marge is survived by two children Debbie (Cumming, GA) and T.J. (Baltimore, MD); four Grandchildren Tony (Cumming, GA), Josh (San Antonio, TX), Nick (Tuscaloosa, AL), and Matt (Dothan, AL); and one sister Nancy Bella (Philadelphia, PA). She is also survived by more family, extended family, and friends then we can lovingly name here though each one is cherished and remembered. She is preceded in death by her parents Rose and Tony (Philadelphia, PA) and her sister Bunny (Rehoboth Beach, DE).
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, February 9, 2019, from2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm. for an informal drop-in Memorial. Chelsey Park will also hold a Memorial for Marge on Thursday, February 7, at 2:30 p.m. on the 2nd floor.
Flowers are appreciated or you may make contributions in Margarets memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
