Margaret Sue Mitchell Marrs, 78, of Cumming passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018 in her home surrounded by her husband and family. Born February 23, 1940 in Athens, TN to the late Tillman and Sue Mitchell; she graduated from McMinn County High School. Margaret married John D. Marrs September 14, 1958 in Athens and together they lived in Burlington, VT, Long Island, NY, Murfreesboro, TN, Knoxville, TN, Marietta, GA, Boise, ID before settling in Cumming. A homemaker, she enjoyed painting, sewing, singing and design work. Margaret and John were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the Mormons) where she served in numerous Womens Leadership roles. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Curt Mitchell.
Survivors include her husband, John D. Marrs; children, Montgomery David and Jacqueline Marrs, Deborah Lynn Marrs, Patricia A. Madison, Steve and Kim Gusmus; grandchildren, April Holmes, Nicholas Marrs, Carly and Justin Dahlgren, Michelle and Dane Ganoung, Jacquline M. Case, Grace V. Case, Elisabeth Clay, Anna Clay, Christine Clay; great grandchildren, Lily, Claire, Aiden, Josie, Reese, Kylee, Kadence, Norah, Natalie; sisters, Debra Mullins and Sherry Rockholt; 9 nieces and nephews. She was a friend to all and loved by her many friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 18, at 12:00 noon at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Ryan Smith. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
