Margie Marion Harrell Brown

Margie Marion Harrell Brown, lovingly called Grandmother RG, 87, formerly of Austell, GA, went to be with the Lord on December 16, 2021, after a short battle with breast cancer. She was born December 1, 1934 in Buchanan, Ga. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Garrett Brown; eldest son, Wayne Garrett Brown; step-daughter, Diane Washington; parents, Birtie Mae Moss and Preston Harrell; sisters, Laura Jarrell and Bernice Lewallen; and brother, William Harrell.

She is survived by her son, Greg Wayne Brown (Pam); her step-daughter, Dale Washington (Harold); her sister, Lea Schmidt; her daughter-in-law, Debbie Brown; granddaughters, Alaina Mount (Ben) and Audra Brown; and great-grandchildren, Kody Brown, Kyleigh Haney, and Brynleigh Mount; as well as several step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Margie was the office manager for Frank Brown Grading. Well known amongst her friends as an avid bowler, who was quite proud of her collection of trophies. She also enjoyed gardening, bird-watching, sewing, crocheting, cross-stitching, and cooking Sunday dinners for her family. She enjoyed family vacations camping in the mountains and at the beach, with a special love for deep sea fishing.

In her later years, she dedicated her time to helping raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and will always be remembered for her loving devotion and awesome cooking. She will be greatly missed by all who were lucky to know and love her.
Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, December 20, at 1:00 p.m. at Sunrise Memorial Gardens, 11261 Veterans Memorial Highway; Douglasville, GA 30134, with Rev. Harold Washington officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and Monday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service in the Family Room at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
