Maria Albo

Maria Grazia Albo,62, of Cumming, GA joined her parents Anna and Luigi Miele in heaven on the morning of Friday, January 10, 2015 peacefully in her sleep. Mrs. Albo was born December 10, 1952 in Brooklyn, New York and was a graduate of York College where she studied Political Science. After her graduation, she enjoyed working for Catholic Social Services where she was able to make a positive difference in the thriving Italian community of Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. She moved to Atlanta in 1992 at the urging of her cousin, the late Anna Bean, and began working for MSI. Despite her long illness, Mrs. Albo pursued graduate study at St. Johns University and Georgia State University. In addition, she traveled to many places including Hawaii and Italy. She cherished her independence and was frequently seen shopping at North Point Mall. She loved spending time with her family, visiting New York City, talking on the phone, dining out and finding a great deal at the mall. Mrs. Albo is survived by her husband Andrew of 37 years, daughter Maria and her husband Jared Goodall, grandson Paul; sisters Enrica (husband Charles) Troy and Patrica(her late husband Matthew) Buttigieg; nieces Gina Gucciardo, MaryAnn DePaola, Christina Buttigieg, Elisabeth Troy , Anna Gucciardo and nephew Thomas Troy as well as many cousins and friends in Atlanta, New York, Alabama, Florida and Italy. Her family admired her enduring spirit and fierce determination. We will remember her as a model of strength and grace. Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
