Marie Florence Inman

Marie Florence Inman, age 89, of Johns Creek, GA was called home to be with her Savior on Saturday evening, July 24, 2021. Marie was born on May 7, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to Paul and Rose Wick Haberland. She was the youngest of four siblings. When Marie was a year old, she had scarlet fever and was not expected to survive. She also suffered from epilepsy. She endured many health issues throughout her life but never complained.

Marie married George Inman on May 24, 1958. They lived in Brookfield, IL. Marie babysat her nieces and nephews. She worked in a nursing home as a housekeeper for many years. When George tried to teach her to drive, she almost drove into a lake. Despite not driving, she was quite independent. When she wanted to go somewhere, she walked, took a cab, or rode the train.

After George retired, they moved to Sugar Land, Texas in 1998 to be closer to their daughter Debbie Peck. When Debbie and her husband Dave moved to Johns Creek, GA in 2007, Marie and George moved with them. They lived together in a terrace level basement apartment where Debbie and Dave cared for them. Marie adored her grandsons David and Christopher.

Marie is survived by her daughter Deborah S. Peck (husband Dave), grandsons David and Christopher, and many nieces and nephews. Her husband George preceded her in death in 2016. The viewing will be held at Living Faith Lutheran Church (1171 Atlanta Highway, Cumming GA 30040) on Saturday, July 31st at 9:00 am, followed by the funeral service at 10:00 am. Interment will be at Sawnee View Gardens Cemetery immediately following the service. Everyone is invited to return to the church for lunch.
