Marie Ann Slappy

Marie Ann Slappy, age 77, passed away on June 15th, 2024. She was born on September 15th, 1946, to Agusta and Gertrude Poore. Ann was a member at First Baptist Church Cumming. She served as the WMU Director, Wedding Director, and the Social Director at the church. Ann was also a member of the Agape Sunday School Class and The Kathy Jolly WMU Mission Group. She loved serving others. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Agusta Poore and Gertrude Poore; first husband, Harold Thomas Husky; second husband, Charles Robert Moore Sr.

She is survived by her husband, Andrew “Andy” Slappy; children, Ann Marie (Phillip) Scott, Charles Robert (Sarah) Moore Jr.; stepchildren, Dr. Jackson A.L. (Cindy) Slappy, Andrea Schulke; brother, Lee Evans Poore; 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 20th, 2024, at 2:00 PM, at First Baptist Church Cumming with Dr. Bob Jolly officiating. The interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 19th, 2024, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and again on Thursday, from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
