Marion Elizabeth Forbes

Marion Elizabeth Forbes, 96, of Gainesville, Georgia passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012.
Marion was born in Wilmore Kansas the daughter of Thomas J. Foree and Nannie T. (Jackson) Foree. Marion had three brothers and one sister. During her childhood years she lived in Kansas and Arkansas. She was of Baptist faith.

After attending one year of college she moved to Hutchinson Kansas where she met her husband Francis Omar Forbes, a widower with two children, Ruth and John. Marion immediately had full family responsibilities. Two years later Marion had her first child, Mary Adah Forbes.
During Marion's years in Hutchinson, in addition to being a home-maker, she worked as a book keeper for the family business, sales and service person for Dillon's Bakery, Specialty Fabrics,H&R Block, Salt City Insurance Agency and later ran her own tax service business.
Marion was also a Life member of the Order of The Eastern Star.

Several years after her husband F.O. Forbes passed, she moved to Georgia in 1995 and lived with her grandson Larrance, his wife Renee and family.

In March 2009 Marion fell at home and fractured her hip. After therapy and recovery she moved to the Cumming Nursing Center where she continued to be active within her new environment.
Marion passed away after a short illness on April 22, 2012. A memorial service will be held in Halstead Kansas. Marion will be buried next to her husband in Halstead Kansas.

Marion is survived by son, John A. (Sandra) Forbes; daughters, Mary Adah Ziegler & Ruth (John) Williams; sister, Adah Pyeatt; grandchildren, Janna (John) Oliver, Cynthia (Richard) Robertson, Patricia (Loren) Johnson & Larrance (Renee) Forbes; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Laurel, Marcus, Aaron, Audra, Julie, Jessica, Lieren & Spencer.
