Marjorie Sheffield Reeves

Marjorie Sheffield Reeves passed away Monday evening, December 28, 2020, to join our Father in Heaven. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, John Harvey Reeves, a son Robert John Reeves and his wife Tracy; a daughter Lydia Elizabeth (Bethe) Vincent and her husband Jamie. She was extremely proud of her 5 grandchildren, Jourdan Roberts (Jonathan), Barron Reeves, Austin Oliver (Julie), Alec Oliver and Zach Vincent.

She was born and raised in Colquitt, GA and graduated from Andrew College in Cuthbert, GA. After graduation, she moved to Atlanta where she met her husband John. She and John were engaged at the top of Stone Mountain where she always told people she complained on the way up the mountain and cried happy tears on the way back down. During her years, she worked in banking, education and retired from a career in computer software. She was extremely active in volunteer work including ushering at Alpharetta First United Methodist Church as well as Cumming United Methodist Church when she and John moved to Cumming in 2000. She actively volunteered with Seniors and Lawmen Together in Forsyth County and also ushered and acted in plays at the Cumming Playhouse.

Marjorie was known for her outgoing personality, her willingness to listen, her love of God and her children and grandchildren. Marjorie never knew a stranger, she would always make them a friend or consider them an honorary child in her eyes. She was such a giving person, always making sure people knew how much she genuinely cared.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Forsyth County Library where Marjorie and John loved to spend their afternoons reading and visiting with others. You may have passed their car in the parking lot most Sunday afternoons after church and lunch at Cracker Barrel, one of Marjorie's favorites.

A celebration of Marjorie's life will be held Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Cumming First United Methodist Church.

Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory, 210 Ingram Ave; Cumming, GA is in charge of the arrangements.
