Mark Preston Barron, age 65, peacefully passed away in his home, January 11th 2022, after an extended battle with cancer. Born in Tampa, Florida February 15th 1956 as the fifth child and youngest son to George W Barron Sr. and Alice Graham Barron, who preceded him in death in 2016 and 2018 respectively.
After graduating from Valley Forge Military Academy & College he joined the United States Navy, like his dad, George Sr. His Naval service, early in his life, provided him with the tools, discipline and guidance to overcome the expected setbacks he would encounter in his passionate “pursuit of happiness” throughout the years. Over a decade ago, he was asked to suspend his career ambitions to help care for his parents, so he obliged. He set aside his life-long dream of owning his own business so he could be there for his elderly parents in their time of need. It was during this career pause that he came up with the notion to start a roofing company employing veterans. In 2012, with the support of his family he formed and successfully ran a roofing company until he died. He proudly named his company, VETERANS INTEGRITY ROOFING, LLC.
Mark is survived by his sister Christine Barron Macaulay of Washington’s Crossing, PA. and brothers George W. “Chip” Barron, Jr., Charles G. “Chuck” Barron, and J. Gregory Barron, all of Atlanta. He was especially beloved by his many nieces and nephews, Christina Macaulay, Mark Macaulay, Kimberly Barron (German), Amy Barron (Harden), George W. Barron III, and David Barron, Michael Barron, Courtney Barron, Meghan Barron (Little), Whitney Barron (Petty), Ashley Barron, Brett Barron, Matthew Barron, Jason Barron, Graham Barron, Grant Barron. In addition, he loved doting over the many (25) grand-nieces and nephews at the traditional family gatherings every year.
Knowing brother Mark, a Born-Again Christian, is in a better place gives us much comfort, though his unique presence in our lives will surely be missed. God Bless You, Brother Mark!
