Marsha Gwen Ledbetter Elzey

Marsha Gwen Ledbetter Elzey, age 74, of Cumming gained her wings Friday, January 28^th, 2022. A loving wife, mother, and meme, Marsha loved shopping with her friends, daughter, and grandkids, cooking, and watching Lifetime movies. She was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church. She enjoyed many pursuits some of which included owning her own children’s boutique, serving as a bailiff for the Forsyth County Court System, and substitute teaching. She always felt fortunate to be a stay at home mom and volunteer for her kid’s school activities. She loved her time working at Cumming Eye Clinic where she was able to connect with so many of her local friends.

 She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Elzey; grandson, Watson Hugh Elzey; parents, Herbert and Kathryn Ledbetter; and sister, Frances Ledbetter Sexton.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Vince and Miriam Elzey of Cumming; daughter, Misty Burtz of Cumming; grandchildren, Madison Elzey, Ally Burtz, Sara Kathryn Burtz, Graham Elzey; brothers and sisters, Doyle and Hellon Ledbetter of Douglasville; Lewis and Barbara Ledbetter of Cumming; Atwood and Lynda Ledbetter of Cumming; Patsy and Billy Holbrook of Cumming; Lamar Sexton of Cumming; brother-in-law, Robert and Joyce Elzey of Cumming; sisters-in-law, Regina and Broughton Cochran of Gainesville and Lisa and David Decker of Costa Rica; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 1^st at 11 a.m. at New Harmony Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dennis Bottoms, Ruel Martin, and Donnie Nix officiating. Interment with the Rev. Pete Martin will follow at New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Monday, January 31^st from 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday, February 1^st from 9 a.m. until hour of the service.
