Mary "Sue" Whitmire Wells

Mary "Sue" Whitmire Wells, age 79 of Cumming, GA passed away on December 12, 2021 at her home. Sue was born April 27, 1942 in Gainesville, GA. She was the devoted wife of James Leon Wells, who preceded her in death, and loving mother to Randy Wells, Atlanta, GA.

After graduating from high school in Dawsonville, GA, Sue moved to Atlanta to continue her studies at Southern Business University. While working at Piedmont Southern Life Insurance Company and going to school, she resided in the Church's Home for Business Women where she was introduced to her future husband, Leon. They were married at Trinity United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Ga December 21, 1962. After they moved to Norcross, she worked for Scientific Atlanta. Several years later, their son Randy was born. After his birth, Sue stepped away from the workforce to be a stay-at-home mother. Years later, Sue started her own business as an independent Longaberger Consultant. During those years, she enjoyed traveling with her husband to shows across the east coast, making many friends along the way. Always active in her church, Sue had been a member and a true friend to many at both John Wesley United Methodist Church, Norcross, Ga and in recent years, Cumming United First Methodist Church where she so enjoyed being a member of the Faithful Fellowship Sunday School Class.

Sue is preceded in death by her husband, James Leon Wells, parents Russell and Amy Whitmire and sister, Joan Samples,

She is survived by her son, Randy Wells, Atlanta, GA, brother, Dawson Whitmire (Rhonda) Dawsonville, GA, sister, Florene Hughes, Atlanta, GA, brothers-in-law Royce Samples, Cumming, GA and Charles Wells, Ellijay, GA, sister-in-law Mary W Geurin (Joe), Peachtree Corners, GA, special aunt Sybil Wells, Pensacola, FL and many nephews, nieces, and other relatives who she cherished and deeply loved.

Sue loved getting together with friends and family. Always a true lady. Poised, polite, kind, respectful of all and respected by others. She loved to laugh and that laugh will be missed! Sue will always be cherished in the hearts of her family and her many friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 17, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Ingram Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, GA. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 3:00 PM prior to the Service. Interment, Sawnee View Memorial Gardens, 1390 Dahlonega Hwy, Cumming, GA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association (Heart.org) or Parkinson's Foundation (Parkinsons.org) in memory of Mrs. Sue Wells.
