Mary Rena McGehee Jones

Mary Rena McGehee Jones, 89, of the Chestatee community passed away Sunday, March 30, 2025. Mary attended Chestatee School where she played basketball and was a member of Salem Baptist Church. She and her late husband, J.C. Jones owned an operated at grocery store and gas station on the Dawsonville Highway for many years. Mary adored her family, especially her grandchildren and enjoyed spending her time looking out her window at her lake. In addition to her husband, Mary is preceded in death by her grandson, Samuel Jones; sisters, Susie Pendley and Ann Smith; brothers, Joe McGehee and Bobby McGehee; and her daughter-in-law, Loretta Bruce Jones.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Diane Jones Dunagan and Lanny Dunagan; son, Gary Lamar Jones; grandchildren, Paden Jones-Dunagan, Misty Casse, Sommer Green; great grandchildren, Madison Green, Morgan Green, Trinity Casse, Austin Casse, Lucas Jones and Luke Dunagan; and great great grandchildren, Hayes Casse and Dallas Bennett.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 2, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donnie Nix officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 12:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
