Megan Maryanski, age 23, of Cumming, GA passed away on January 19, 2023. Megan graduated with Honors from Forsyth Central High School and attended the University of North Georgia where she maintained a perfect Grade Point Average. It was Megan’s dream from an early age to serve her country. Prior to High School graduation, she proudly enlisted in the United States Army as a 35F Army Intelligence Analyst.
Unfortunately, Megan’s military career ended after an injury that occurred in basic training turned out to be a result of a rare form of cancer called osteosarcoma. She bravely endured chemotherapy, limb salvage surgery, multiple hospitalizations due to recurrent infections, and an above the knee amputation of her leg. Megan remained cancer free for 5 years after her diagnosis.
Megan was a loving, caring, and compassionate person. She had a love for cars and racing. She was a talented artist, animal lover and devoted rescuer of feral kittens.
Megan is survived by her mother Kim Moore, stepfather Eddy Moore, father Dave Maryanski, stepmother Jean Maryanski, twin sister Ashley Maryanski, brothers Jordan Maryanski and Grady Moore. Maternal grandparents Bill and Theresa Jordan, paternal grandparents Linda Madison and Tim Madison, Dr. James and Midori Maryanski, Ersel and Mary Owens.
