Mary Mernagh, age 94, of Cumming, formerly of Miami, Florida and New York, passed away April 28, 2009.She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Josephine Maniglia, and brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Shirley Maniglia. Survivors include her daughter Helene Mernagh, grandchildren Debbie and Crawford Shirley, Joe and Holly Romano, and Stacey and Chris Mitchell all of Cumming; great grandchildren Jennifer and David Miller, Michelle Terry, Nicholas and Christopher Romano, and Zachary and Julia Mitchell all of Cumming; and one niece and nephew Bonnie and Bob Roth of New York. She was one of few women graduates of Miners Business College in Brooklyn, NY. She was a stenographer with the office of War Agency from 1942 to 1945 when she was transferred to the War Assets Administration. In 1948 she became Purchasing Agent for the Voice of America, Dept. of State. She retired from Social Security Administration DHE in Miami, FL in 1980. She was a true career woman who cared deeply for her familys wellbeing. Her hobbies were dancing, in which she won two trophies while in New York, motorcycle riding, horse back riding, and cooking. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 30th at 7:00 pm at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Father John Howren officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 30th from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Entombment will follow at Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of Miami in Miami, FL. Ingram Funeral Home Crematory, Cumming, GA is in charge of the arrangements.
