Mary Elizabeth Sutton

Mary Elizabeth Sutton, age 89 of Cumming, Ga made her transition into the arms of the Lord Thursday, September 12th, 2024

Mary is preceded in death by the following: her parents, Vester and Ruth Stilley. Her loving husband of 38 years, James H. Sutton. Daughter Rene’ Pruitt Gardner and Son Wayne Morgan. Siblings, Steve Stilley and Beverly Helms-Nunz as well as Grand-daughter Lisa Pyle.

Mary is survived by her children who will feel her absence immensely: Gail (Jim) Olson, George (Leavon) Galbreath and Susan (Michael) Haney all of Cumming. Frankie (Connie) Morgan of Jackson, Ga. Daughter In Law, JoAnn Morgan of Carrollton, Ga. Siblings Betty (Carlous) Cook, Marie (Monte) Hughes-Ross, Johnny (Nancy) Stilley and Sandra Thomas.

19 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter lovingly refer to her as “Nanny”.

In addition, she is survived by her best friend, Bonnie Bales and 6 very loved kitty’s!

Many would agree that Mary was loving, caring, kind, funny and always wearing a smile. She fiercely loved everyone around her. Never would you leave her beautifully kept home without knowing how much she loved you.

In early years you would find her safely crossing Milton High School students as their crossing officer. Many of her grandchildren would refer to her as the best Avon Lady in Alpharetta! Her dresser would be lined with many (all her favorites, of course) bottles of perfume and make-up!

Mary enjoyed Bingo at the VFW with her best friend Bessie, attending dog races, playing dominos and taking memorable family trips to Vegas, Florida and North Carolina. Breakfast at the Dixie Diner in Alpharetta and Huddle House after bingo were her most favorite places to eat.

The family would love to express our gratitude for your prayers and condolences.

Per Mary’s wishes, a private viewing will be shared with her immediate family and her final remains will come to rest alongside her husband at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Ga.
