Matlyn Singleton Hood

Matlyn Singleton Hood, age 83, of Cumming, GA, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Dawsonville, GA, where she loved to sing in the choir. Matlyn was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is preceded in death by her 1st husband, Charlie Singleton; 2nd husband, John Hood; parents Henry and Floy Faye Long; and 12 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children, Joyce Bennett-Bryant, Jenny (Aaron) Tallant, Susan (Andy) Anderson, and Joe Singleton; grandchildren, Jeff (Kaywin) Bennett, Steven Swofford, Stephanie Sheets, John Anderson and Michael Anderson; great grandchildren, Tyler Bennett, Emily Bennett, Taylor Swofford, Olivia Swofford, Thomas Sheets and Jachob Sheets; numerous nieces and nephews; along with many other loving friends and relatives.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hood will be Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Pastor Dr. David Sanders of Bethel UMC officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell United Methodist Church in Cumming, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service.

Ingram Funeral Home Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
