Melissa Louise (Clair) Donovan died February 11, 2025 in Cumming, GA surrounded by family having fought illness for a number of years. Born in Great Bend, KS on October 27, 1953 and formerly from Hoisington KS, she lived in Wichita KS, Casper WY, and the last ten years north of Atlanta. November 15, 1975, she married, and is survived by, her high school sweetheart, Sherman Donovan. Having been married 49 years, she is survived also by her four children/spouses and nine grandchildren: Sara (Donovan) Boster/Nathan - Catherine, Michael, Clare, Elizabeth, Maximilian, Benedict & Augustine, Jenny Donovan - Julius, Andrew Donovan/Stephanie - Vincent, and Anna Donovan. She is survived also by her mother-in-law, Mary Hazel (Donovan) Hoffman. Five siblings also survive her - Bill Clair, Michele (Clair) McFarren, Bradley Clair/Dawn, Sherry (Clair) Price/Bart, Frank Clair/Paula, and Gerise (Clair) Vignaroli/Richard and their families. Preceding her in death are her parents, William E. “Bucky” Clair & Velma Ruth Clair-Helfrich as well as her twin, Melinda Clair.
An interior designer by trade, Lis was passionate about all things beautiful, spending many hours creating, gardening, and decorating. She was gifted in everything she attempted, most especially in the arts - painting, drawing, flower arranging, stitching, sewing, bead work, and stained glass. However, her greatest passion outside her family, was undoubtedly her Catholic faith. Having been active in the church as a volunteer and faithful organizer of youth and family events, she led her life well-grounded in truth. Our Lady of Fatima was a special devotion for her, including years of making rosaries, and even designing the renovation of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Casper. May she reap her eternal reward and intercede for all in the heavenly kingdom of saints.
Funeral service and Columbarium burial will be 1:00 pm Friday, February 14, 2025 at Church of the Good Shepherd, Cumming GA. Beloved family friend, Fr. Michael Silloway will preside. Memorials can be made to the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal. [https://pushpay.com/g/franciscanfriars]
