Melvin Davis, 68, of Cumming, GA passed away July 19, 2022. Mr. Davis was born in Atlanta, GA to the late Marvin and Montine Davis. Melvin had a larger-than-life personality and was a Jack of all trades. He had the Midas touch and could fix anything from automobiles to home repair. Melvin really enjoyed tinkering around working on cars. He was an avid NASCAR fan, he was a Bill Elliott fan in his early years, and was a Chase Elliott fan in his later years. Melvin loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He had a unique bond and relationship with each of his grandchildren and instilled many of the Davis traits to each of them. His dog, Finn, was his pride and joy. The bond between them was unbreakable. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his sister, Margina Davis.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Donna Davis; daughter and son in-law, Amber and Eugene Smith; grandchildren, Corbin, Dylan, Livy; sisters, Maureen Brooks, Melinda Champaign, Marcille Payne; brother, Mike Davis; several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A celebration of life will be held on his birthday 12:00 pm Saturday, July 23, 2022 in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Mr. Terry Temples, Mr. Ray Pendley, Mr. Ross Collins and Master Corbin McCracken presiding. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until service hour at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Forsyth County Humane Society, 4440 Keith Bridge Rd, Cumming, GA 30041, or to the Save The Horses Rescue, 1768 Newt Green Rd, Cumming, GA 30028 in honor of Mr. Melvin Davis. Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming is in charge of arrangements.
