Mercedes Alexander Harbin

Mercedes Alexander Harbin, 86, of Cumming, GA passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2019. Born in Hillsville, VA. to the late Charles Ingram Alexander and Minnie Nickitie Hanks Alexander, she had lived in Cumming with her daughter, Annette for the past 19 years, moving here from Perry, GA. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Harbin, who passed away in 2000.

Survivors include her daughters, Gwendolyn Dawn Surratt, Sharon Denise Zellner, Annette Surratt Norton; sisters, Gertrude Holston, Gail Dillon; brothers, Nathaniel Alexander, Clayborn Alexander, Atchley Alexander; grandchildren, Misty Kiernan, Abraham Surratt-Duncanson, Zoe Surratt-Duncanson, Ashley Hunt, Austin Norton; great grandchildren, Xavier Tarbox, Chase Kiernan; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 10, 2019, at Barnett Funeral Home, 325 Church Street, Wytheville, VA 24360 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Draper Valley Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Ingram Funeral Home Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
