Michael Wayne Jones

Michael Wayne Jones, age 62, of Gainesville passed away Monday, November 7, 2016. Well known by his family and friends as "Uncle Mike", he was a second generation plumber, yet was comfortable framing a home, working under the hood of a car or automotive body work, he could do anything. Above all he was a family man who was devoted to his nieces and nephews. Mike was also a certified scuba diver and enjoyed diving in the Florida Keys. He was preceded in death by father, John H. Jones, his mother, Barbara Starr and a brother, Darryl Jones. Survivors include his brother, Johnny Jones of Jonesboro; sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Eddie Dalton of Cumming; nephews, Jeremiah (Joy) Dalton of Cumming, Johnny Jones, Jr. of Toccoa, Jeremy Jones of Acworth; nieces, Heather Downs of Cumming, Veronica Jones of Cumming, Michele (Joseph) Armstrong of Ellenwood; aunts, Joyce Feltman of Griffin, Brenda Turner of Conyers; uncle, Lenard Shelton of Monticello; and a number of great nieces and nephews and cousins. Memorial services will be held Sunday, November 13, at 4:00 p.m. at Bethelview United Methodist Church with Ms. Paula Edney officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Sunday from 2:00 until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Bethelview United Methodist Church, 4525 Bethelview Road, Cumming, GA 30040. Ingram Funeral Home & Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
