Michael Linn Weller

Michael Linn Weller, Jr of Cumming, GA died unexpectedly at age 54 on Oct 31 at his home. He overcame many obstacles in his life but losing his younger daughter caused an unbearable pain and he tragically chose to end his life.

Mike was preceded in death by his father Michael Linn Weller, Sr in 2006 and his daughter Reagan Leigh Weller in 2023. He leaves behind his older daughter Kailey Weller, his mother Janie Scott, extended family, and many friends who are feeling the pain of his death. He also leaves behind his sweet Great Pyrenees, Roxy, who was his constant companion and source of comfort after Reagan’s death.

Mike was born in Tullahoma, TN and grew up in Huntsville, AL where he graduated from Grissom High School in 1989. After a three year service in the United States Navy, he went on to get his degree in Computer Science from Athens State University. He was married for 15 years and had two beautiful daughters. He moved his family to Georgia in 2009 and enjoyed a long, successful career with McKesson Corporation.

Mike will be remembered for his passion for Alabama football, his involvement with the Rocket City Radio Controllers club in Huntsville, and his love of music. He was a huge fan of Guided by Voices and would travel to their shows whenever he could. He was always up for a game of pool on Friday or Saturday nights at the Thirsty Turtle and he never met a stranger, talking to anyone about anything.

Mike’s greatest accomplishments were his daughters, the memories he created with them, and finding sobriety for them. Kailey will carry on his legacy of hard work, enthusiasm for life, and an unwavering commitment to stay true to herself.

A visitation is planned for Saturday, Nov 23 at noon at Laughlin Funeral Home in Huntsville with a Celebration of Life to immediately follow at Back Forty Beer Company. Please join us as we raise a glass to Mike and share stories about the good times we had with him.
