Minnie Ruth Carr

Minnie Ruth Carr of Alpharetta, Georgia, age 82, went to the arms of Jesus on December 10, 2021, following major abdominal surgery earlier in the week. Her weakened body from decades of struggles with the effects of Scleroderma was not able to withstand the ravages of the procedure and recovery process.

Minnie treasured her family deeply and especially the pleasures of being a grandmother. She loved her church and fellowship of many friends. She enjoyed living in multiple states and the ability to travel to many wonderful locations. Having attended Oklahoma College for Women and Univ. of Oklahoma attaining a BS and Masters in elementary education, she enjoyed a career as elementary school teacher prior to retirement due to the Scleroderma. Minnie was instrumental in help facilitating the Bay Area Scleroderma Support Group where she was able to counsel and guide many people struggling with the same disease. Her departure leaves a big void in our lives, but many wonderful memories as well.

Minnie is preceded in death by her parents, Minnie Lee and Carl Besherse of Loco, Oklahoma.

She is survived by her husband Travis Carr, sons Kenneth and Stephen Carr, Stephen's wife Haiqi Carr, teenage grandchildren Gavin and Stephanie Carr, and twin sister Maxie Ruth Tenopir.
