Mollie Frances Holland Curlee, 92, of Atlanta GA, died peacefully on May 4, 2017. Mollie was born to Preuit Irwin Holland and Lona Sockwell Holland in Hanceville AL on March 29, 1925. Growing up in Birmingham, Mollie graduated from Phillips High School, eventually going to work for Southern Natural Gas. There she met the love of her life of 67 years, Jack Douglas Curlee. From Birmingham, Mollie lived in Jacksonville FL moving to Atlanta in 1971. She was an active member of the JOY Sunday School Class at Dunwoody Baptist Church and the Indian Creek and Kingsley Garden Clubs. Mollie loved music and was a longtime supporter of the arts, especially the opera. She enjoyed playing bridge and was active in many bridge groups. Most of all, she loved life, taking care of her family, and being with friends. Mollie was also an avid bird watcher, having discovered a rare sighting that was registered by Fernbank Science Center and The Audubon Society. Mollie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and sister Wanda Holland Foote. Mollie is survived by her loving children, Rebecca Curlee Menetre (Larry) of Alpharetta GA; Nancy Curlee Silverfield (Joel) of Tampa FL and Stephen Douglas Curlee (Patricia Viktor) of Franklin TN. She is also survived by her adored grandchildren: Katherine Curlee Hamblen (Brian) of Nashville TN; Daniel Holland Silverfield (Kathleen Shevlin) of London UK; John Irwin Silverfield of Naples FL; Matthew Douglas Curlee of Nashville TN; Charles Delashaw Silverfield of Washington DC, and three great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Friday May 12th 2:00pm at Dunwoody Baptist Church, 1445 Mt. Vernon Rd, Dunwoody GA. Interment will be Saturday May 13th 1:00pm at Elmwood Cemetery, 600 Martin Luther King Jr Drive, Birmingham AL. The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers of Sunrise Huntcliff Summit II and Agape Hospice for all their love, support and incredible care.
