Molly Waltraud (Dumeier) Bennett

Molly Waltraud (Dumeier) Bennett, age 85, of Dawsonville, GA passed away at 1:30 PM on September 28, 2021. She had Lymphedema caused by surgery and Dementia.

Molly was born in Kassel, Germany on July 30, 1936. She was the fourth of seven children who survived World War II. She met her husband Scotty in Melbourne, Florida and married him on January 27, 1967 in West Wega, Louisiana. They were married for 54 years. She was most proud of becoming a U.S. citizen on December 18, 1970. She worked in housekeeping at Sheraton Hotel owned by Johnny Unitas and cleaned his room. Johnny thought the world of Molly. She also gave McDonald's 15 to 20 years free labor. She was on the clock for two years. They never failed an inspection while Molly helped them. Molly was a good seamstress and knitted hundreds of items and gave them to Walmart employees and employees at various doctor's offices. Every day she left the house she would take bags of candy bars and other candies to employees at Walmart and all the doctor's offices. She was forever giving candy to kids everywhere. She loved bowling in the early days and at 4'10" and 105 pounds she used a 16 pound ball. When her husband Scotty was working aboard the U.S.N.S. Huntsville, Apollo Tracking Ship, Molly & Scotty traveled a lot in Florida, Louisiana and several placed in California. Molly had a heart of gold, she loved giving to friends. Also, Molly love Elvis and loved dancing. They won several dance contests. Molly will be loved for her kindness. She also loved her two Yorkies like they were her kids, Molly & Benji.

Memorial services are scheduled for 3:00 PM Thursday September 30, 2021 in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the funeral home.
