Morris McGinnis

Morris McGinnis, age 75, of Dawsonville, previously of Cumming, passed away Saturday, January 9th, after a long battle with cancer. He was a long time member of Bethelview United Methodist Church. He was the owner of Morris L. McGinnis Grassing Contracting, and worked on several road projects across the State of Georgia. He loved gardening and working in his shop with tractors. Morris really loved his two dogs, Dixie and Mojo. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Bernice McGinnis; brother, Charles McGinnis; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Stone and Kenneth Samples. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn McGinnis; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Cherryl McGinnis; daughter and son-in-law, Kristi and Davis Scott; grandson, Thomas Scott (Jessica Whitmore); granddaughter, Katelyn McGinnis; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bobbie and Alton Richards, Phyllis Samples, Betty Stone, Glendal and Ellen Stone, Michael and Marion Stone; other loving nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 11, at 2:00 PM, at the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Hagler officiating. The interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Sunday, January 10, from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and on Monday, from 9:00 AM until the hour of service.
