OBITUARY NOTICE

May 23rd, 1937 – October 25th, 2024

 

Mozelle P. Floyd, age 97, of Gainesville, passed away on October 25th, 2024. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Mozelle also belonged to the Chestatee Homemakers Club and a ceramics guild where she would attend their conventions and take classes. Mozelle was a 4-H advisor for many years going to camps and competitions. She was an avid painter and loved to travel. Mozelle was an advocate for family reunions and encouraged her family to attend them on a regular basis. Even later in life, her memory was as vibrant and present in so much that people would come and ask her about many things in her 97 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Austin Floyd; parents, Vester and Fay Pendley; brothers, Mark and Jim Pendley.

She is survived by her children, Elaine and Arthur Wright of Dahlonega, Nolan and Hazel Floyd of Cumming, Lavonda and Michael Hill of Cumming; grandchildren, Devin (Susan) Wright, Darron (Tonya) Wright, Dustin (Carolyn) Wright, Nick (Diana) Hill, Lisa (Brandon) Waters, Jared (Mitzi) Floyd, Nalanna (Bobby) Palmer; great grandchildren, Emily Wright, Jacob Wright, Megan Wright, Ashley Wright, Trent Wright, Adde Wright, Abigail Wright, Ansley Waters, Abbey Waters, Derek Hill, Zac Hill, Scarlett Palmer, Austin Floyd, Ellie Floyd.

The family would also like to thank Visiting Angels and Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center for their loving care.

 Funeral services will be held Monday, October 28th, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Martin and the Rev. Taylor Cole officiating. Interment will follow at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Salem Baptist Church on Monday, October 28th, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until hour of the service.
