Nadine Hammond Gravitt

Nadine Hammond Gravitt, 85, of Cumming passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023. A native of Forsyth County, Nadine was a loving mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother. She retired in 2003 as an elementary school teacher after teaching for 35 years at Sawnee and Coal Mountain Elementary Schools. Nadine was a longtime member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and is preceded in death by her husband, Broughton Gravitt; parents, Chesley and Laura Mae Hammond; sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Richard Sefzik; and her twin brothers, Woodrow and Bud Hammond.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Alan Watson; son and daughter-in-law, Rex and Deliah Gravitt; grandchildren, Christi and Scott Thompson, Jacob and Rae Watson, Evan Gravitt, Gabriel Gravitt and Claire Pearson, Alexander Gravitt; great grandchildren, Matthew Thompson, Bennett Thompson; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 23, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Craig Richard and Rev. Ruel Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
