Nancy Elizabeth Moseman

On the evening of Wednesday, January 6th, 2021, our mother, Nancy Elizabeth Moseman, 79, of Cumming, Georgia, quietly left her earthly life behind to join her Heavenly Father and her husband, Jack, for eternity.

Nancy was a wonderful, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. For almost 52 years Nancy lived in the Ducktown Community and although her more active days had passed, Nancy spent many years keeping score at softball games, coaching cheerleading and softball teams, hauling children to school, games, and other activities. Nancy was a dependable friend and a second mother to many; her heart was deep with generosity.

Nancy was an avid reader and a life-long lover of books. She was retired from the Forsyth County Public Library after many years of service. Nancy could often be found running errands with her four-legged child, Martha, whom she loved as her youngest "daughter" or out to lunch with her two closest friends. But there was nothing that she loved more than her children and her grandchildren. "Work hard and make me proud" were the words that ended many conversations with her children, with whom she was always amazed. She was extremely proud of the "wonderful" people her children and grandchildren had become. We are grateful for the life of unconditional love, generosity, and kindness our mother gave us; we felt deeply loved.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Clovis Sr. and Mabel Thrasher; her brothers Clovis Thrasher, Jr and James Thrasher Jr; and her husband Jack Moseman.

She is survived by her children Angela and Rick Byers of Dawsonville; Deborah and Joe Thornton of Cumming, Kathy and Mike Spidel of Jasper; David and Leigh Moseman of Waco, TX; Kelly and Jacques Claudon of Cumming; sister Helen Wilbanks of Stone Mountain, grandchildren Angie Byers, Amy Byers, Alexa and Bart Bruce, Anneka Byers, Mary Frances Thornton, Emily Thornton and Michael Naughtin, Charlton Echols, Mallory Echols, Katherine and Derek Bruce, Katherine Moseman, Carolyn Moseman, Olivia Claudon and Avery Claudon; great grandchildren, Avett Bruce, Frances Harper Thornton-Naughtin, Josephine Rae Thornton-Naughtin, Benjamin Bruce and Claira Ann Bruce, and Nancy's beloved dog, Martha-Mae Moseman. Nancy leaves behind other extended relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Friends of the family are invited to a brief graveside service to be held at Sawnee View Gardens in Cumming on Saturday, January 16th at 1:30 PM. Masks and social distancing will be observed. Guests are invited to either arrive at the cemetery, where the tent will be marked by blue balloons (Nancy's favorite color), or to arrive at Ingram's Funeral Home by 1:00 PM to follow the funeral procession.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Forsyth County Public Library. Donations can be made online or by check. Checks should be made payable to North Georgia Community Foundation with "Forsyth County Public Library Fund" written in the memo line. To designate the fund, select "designation" and then "other," then enter the fund name "Forsyth County Public Library Fund".
