Nancy Claire Safstrom

Nancy Claire Safstrom, age 89, of Roswell, GA, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. Her life is a testimony of the cascading and enduring impact of wisdom. She lived and loved so well and so wisely. Generations of people—her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren —are better for it. She was a quiet and unrelenting force of good, with a witty sense of humor and a work ethic that couldn’t be beat. She could easily have allowed age to turn her focus inward, but she didn’t. She continued connecting, showing up, opening her home and her heart and pouring out until the very end. Those who know her best are grateful to have known her, and our lives won’t be the same without her loving presence.

She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Byron J. Safstrom; children, Donna (Mitch) Hagins, David (Barbara) Safstrom, Darlene (John) Harrison, and Dan (Julee) Safstrom; brother, Kenn Meyer; 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren; along with many other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA. Graveside services will be held Monday, November 13, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
