It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Naomi N. Gibson on June 29, 2023. She was 104 and is preceded in death by her parents, Edna & Herman Anderson, husband of 70 years John Gibson, Sr., beloved son-in-law Gordon W. Mann, Sr., and granddaughter Penny Gibson.
Naomi loved cooking and baking for family and friends and her kitchen skills were legendary. She had a natural talent which was enjoyed by all. This passion led to the opening of Patty’s Restaurant and Pastry Shop. Her skills were also helpful in working as a cashier for Fisher’s Grocery Store from which she retired.
Upon retiring and moving to Naples, FL she enjoyed sunset walks on the beach, fishing, volunteering at the local hospital, and activities at the neighborhood association. She loved to travel and was always open to new experiences. Her faith was very important to her all of her life and she was active in the church.
She greatly loved her family and enjoyed being with them, always putting them first. Her surviving family includes three children; Pat Mann, John Gibson, Jr. (Cheryl) and Judy Gaspar (Gary), as well as numerous loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and one great great great grandson. She leaves behind a lasting and loving legacy.
In her later years she enjoyed playing cards, bingo, taking walks, chocolate candy, and being pampered. She was always thankful for her family and caregivers.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Villas at Canterfield, Golden Rule Hospice, and Gainesville United Methodist Church for their care, respect, and thoughtfulness.
