Nellene Savannah Bannister Dooley

Nellene Savannah Bannister Dooley, age 84, of Cumming, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2011. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church where she was in the Oasis Choir and Adult II Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Good Time Senior Band in Stone Mountain, GA. Nelle loved to play cards with her friends, as well as bird watching and growing flowers. She loved dancing and taught many people how to do the Charleston. She was also a graduate of the Big Johns Clogging Class. Nelle loved southern gospel music, especially the Gaithers. She was also an excellent southern cook best known for her wonderful biscuits and was impeccably dressed at all times. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Neal Dooley and her son, James Dooley. Survivors include her daughter and son in-law, Deborah and David McLaughlin; son, Eddie Dooley all of Cumming; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Harley Bennett of Dawsonville; brother and sister-in-law, Ben and Donna Bannister of Gainesville and her Precious Angel Dolls 4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 10, at 11:00 a.m. in Concord Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Burgess and Dr. Lester Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in Eternal Hills Cemetery in Snellville, GA at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until hour of service. Ingram Funeral Home Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
