Norma F. Shrout Huntsville - Norma F. Shrout passed away peacefully, January 6, 2014. She was born February 22, 1937 in Bourbon County, Kentucky where she was a 1955 graduate of Bourbon County High School. She married Coleman Shrout in 1956 and together, they raised two sons. They moved to Davenport, IA and in 1974 to Huntsville, Al. Norma worked in banking over 40 years, retiring as a loan officer from Colonial Bank in 2009. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Paris, KY., Davenport, IA., and finally Huntsville, Al. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a great cook and an avid Kentucky basketball fan. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Coleman Shrout; parents, Omer and Frances Florence; brothers-in-law, Ralph Shrout and Vordon Slade. She is survived by her sons: Phil Shrout and Mark (Kelly) Shrout and 4 grandsons: Michael (Melissa) (Canton, GA), Jackson (Army deployed-Korea), Dylan (Madison, AL) and Garrett (Tuscaloosa, Al). Sisters, Rosalie (Dennis) Spivey, Ruby Slade and brother, Charles William (Jerry) Florence. The family wishes to thank all medical staff that assisted in her care and cancer treatment including: Dr.Rao, CCI, UAB, Golden Living, Benton House, Emory John's Creek and Embracing hospice. The family will have a private memorial service at Maple Hill Cemetery. A celebration of Norma's life will be held in Huntsville, Alabama this summer.
