Onelio E. Perdomo, MD

Onelio E. Perdomo, MD, 82 years old, of Cumming, GA by way of Caibarien, Cuba passed away peacefully on October 1, 2020 surrounded by the loves of his life, his family.

Visitation for Dr. Perdomo will be October 10, 2020 at 1pm and a celebration of life and faith service will be held at 2pm at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA.

The future Dr. Perdomo was born in Havana, Cuba to Zoila and Onelio Perdomo on October 6, 1937.

Onelio worked many jobs as a young man but always dreamed of becoming a physician. That dream was crushed in his second year of medical school when Cuba's political situation forced him to drop out. Upon arriving in the United States, he quickly connected with the love of his life, Miriam Bello whom he knew from Cuba, and they married on July 25, 1970. This year, they celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Four years later, they moved to Mexico with their two daughters to begin medical school. After much sacrifice and the birth of a third daughter, Onelio became a physician and began practicing in small town Alabama.

There he served the community for over 20 years with as much of himself as he could give. He loved his patients and took great care of each one.

In his later years and just before retirement, Dr. Perdomo served the Hispanic community in various clinics in the Atlanta area.
The biggest blessings in his life were his wife, children, and grandchildren. He also deeply loved his nieces and nephews, brothers in law, and cousins. And he held a special place in his heart for his first best friend, his sister, Loida.

Onelio will be remembered as a wise father, an extremely generous man, and the life of the party. He loved big and he also talked many times about his home in heaven.
His family is certain he is whole again and dispensing his wit and wisdom to anyone who will listen.

Onelio is preceded in death by his father, Onelio Perdomo and his mother, Zoila Perdomo.

He is survived by his loving and faithful wife, Miriam Perdomo, daughters Amarilys Barnett (Rhett), Dr. Miriam Perdomo Green (Kevin), and Lyssette Woodtke (John). Eight grandchildren, Catalina and Nova Barnett, Isabella, Will, and Mia Watts, and Avery, Ella, and Graham Kennemore.

He is also survived by his sister and brother in law, Loida and Roberto Osaba, his nieces Maddie and Lindsey Pimentel, Suzette, Sophia, and Savannah Bryan, and Rob, Mary, Noah, Miles, Max, and Bennett Osaba. Sister in law, Maria Sanchez (Paco), nephews Oscar Sanchez (Lynette) and Ezekiel. Close cousins Hector Gonzalez (Fina), children Astruval, Aliette, and Amarilys, Rafael Alvarez (Barbara), children Sandor and Lisette and Rosa Delia Alvarez Rodriguez (Luis).

The family of Onelio Perdomo wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Golden Rule Hospice for their great compassion and care to our beloved husband, father, and friend in his last moments.

Blessed be the name of the Lord.
