Opal Mathis

Opal Mathis, age 73, of Cumming, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2011. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jewell John Mathis, Jr.; and son-in-in-law, Andy Ward. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Jill Mathis; daughter, Debbie Ward of Cumming; sisters, Juanita Shadburn, Inez Mathis, Louise Jones, Eulene Tinsley, Joyce Seay, Marie Barnes; brother, Roger Martin; grandchildren, Jessica Powers, Kristin Mathis, Julie and Adam Wood, Rev. Dustin and Candace Mathis, Christopher Ward; great grandchildren, Dalton, Sophia, Caden and Samantha; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 5, 2011, at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dustin Mathis, Rev. Ruel Martin, Rev. Garry English and Rev. Robert Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Friday from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am until hour of service. Ingram Funeral Home Crematory, Cumming, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
